Duesback

Duesback Terms of Service

Version 1.0.

Effective date: September 26, 2026

These Terms are a contract between you and Duesback. By creating a Duesback account or connecting Duesback to your Muse, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Who we are

Duesback is operated by an individual doing business as "Duesback" ("Duesback", "we", "us"). The operator's legal name is available on request at hello@duesback.com and will appear here once Duesback is organized as a company.

We plan to move the service into a US limited liability company after the first paying users. If that happens, these Terms transfer to that company and we will tell you by email.

Duesback is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc. Muse is a product of Meta. Meta does not review custom connectors like Duesback.

2. What Duesback is

Duesback is a data service built for your personal AI agent, not for you directly. Today it works with Meta's Muse.

Here is what happens:

  1. You add Duesback to Muse as a custom connector, using an API key you get from us.
  2. When you ask Muse to audit your bills, Muse sends your recent bank transactions to Duesback. Muse asks for your approval before it sends any data out.
  3. Duesback looks for recurring charges and fees and returns findings: forgotten subscriptions, phone, internet or TV bills that can be negotiated, and bank fees or unrecognized charges that may be refundable. Each finding comes with a playbook: step-by-step instructions your Muse can follow.
  4. Your Muse does the work. It cancels, negotiates by phone or chat, and requests refunds. Muse asks you to confirm before any purchase or commitment.
  5. Muse reports the outcome back to Duesback. The next time Muse sends transaction data, Duesback checks whether the outcome actually happened.

Duesback never contacts a merchant, bank or provider on your behalf. Duesback never holds your bank credentials. Duesback does not control Muse and cannot make Muse do anything. Muse, its safeguards and its behavior are Meta's product, governed by Meta's terms.

No guarantee of outcomes. Findings are estimates based on transaction patterns. Some findings will be wrong. Some negotiations will fail. Some refunds will be denied. Estimated savings shown in a finding are not promises.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States. You must have a Muse account in good standing and a bank account connected to Muse. You must be the owner or an authorized user of any bank account you let Muse audit. You may use Duesback only for your own personal, non-commercial bills.

4. Fees

You pay nothing upfront. There is no subscription. We charge a success fee only after an outcome is verified.

OutcomeFee
Negotiated lower bill30% of the verified first-year saving
Downgrade to a cheaper plan30% of the verified first-year saving
Cancellation30% of the verified first-year saving
Refund25% of each verified refund

Minimum fee: $1.00 per verified outcome. All fees are in US dollars.

How first-year saving is calculated. First-year saving is the old recurring amount minus the new recurring amount, multiplied by the number of charges in a year for that cadence: 52 for weekly, 26 for biweekly, 12 for monthly, 4 for quarterly, 1 for yearly. For a cancellation the new amount is zero. Fees are rounded to the nearest cent.

Worked example, negotiation. Your Xfinity internet bill was $89.99 a month. Muse negotiates it to $69.99. Monthly saving: $20.00. First-year saving: $240.00. Duesback fee: 30% of $240.00 = $72.00. You keep $168.00 in the first year and all of the saving after that.

Worked example, refund. Muse asks your bank to reverse two $35.00 overdraft fees. The bank credits both, $70.00 in total. Duesback fee: 25% of $70.00 = $17.50. You keep $52.50.

Worked example, cancellation. Muse cancels a $12.99 a month streaming service you had forgotten about. First-year saving: $155.88. Duesback fee: 30% of $155.88 = $46.76. You keep $109.12.

Fees only for Duesback findings. We charge only for outcomes that come from a Duesback finding, are reported back by your Muse, and are verified as described below. If you cancel something on your own, or Muse acts on a bill Duesback did not flag, there is no fee.

5. Verification and when we charge

We charge only after verification. Verification uses the next transaction data your Muse sends us after the outcome, for example during a re-audit.

Guarantee: for 90 days after the report, every audit checks the outcome against your bank data. If the lower price never posts, the cancelled service keeps charging, or the refund never arrives, we reverse the fee: unpaid installments are cancelled and paid ones are refunded in full. If Muse never sends more data, a fee that was waiting for verification is never created, and a billed fee stays due.

The fee is created when your Muse reports the outcome with evidence (a confirmation number, the representative's name, or a chat excerpt) and the numbers (the new price, or the refund amount). We send a one-time Stripe payment link, by email and through your Muse, for each installment: one for fees up to $100, two above $100, three above $300, due 7, 37 and 67 days after the report. You have 48 hours from the report to object; an objected fee is held until a person reviews it. You approve every payment yourself unless you enable autopay, in which case the card you saved is charged after the 48-hour window. A report without evidence or numbers is not billed until your bank data confirms the result. For negotiations, downgrades and cancellations, the whole first-year fee is charged after the first verified lower (or missing) charge. We do not wait a year and we do not bill monthly.

We email you a receipt for every charge. The receipt shows the finding, the before and after amounts, the saving, the math and the fee.

An installment unpaid after its due date pauses new audits until it is paid or disputed. We do not add interest, we do not retry charges, and we do not use collections.

6. Disputes and refunds of fees

You have 30 days from the date of the receipt email to dispute a fee. Email hello@duesback.com with the receipt number and what went wrong.

We refund the fee in full if the saving did not materialize. Examples: the lower rate never took effect, the cancelled service kept charging, or the refund was reversed. We may ask for a statement screenshot or wait for the next audit data to check. We aim to answer within 5 business days and refund within 10 business days to the same card.

After the 30-day window, fees are final. If a negotiated rate later goes back up, for example when a promotional rate expires, that does not entitle you to a refund.

You can also dispute a charge with your card issuer. We ask that you contact us first, since we can usually fix it faster.

Duesback is provided "as is" and "as available".

Duesback is not legal, financial, tax or credit advice. Findings are pattern-based estimates from your transaction history. We do not know your contracts, your usage or your circumstances. Before you cancel or change a service, check whether you have a contract, an early termination fee, or a bundle that depends on it.

Duesback does not control and is not responsible for Muse, Meta, Plaid, your bank, or any merchant or provider. We are not responsible for anything Muse does or fails to do, for calls Muse makes, or for commitments you confirm inside Muse.

12. Termination

You can stop at any time. Remove the Duesback connector in Muse, then say "Duesback, disconnect" to Muse, which revokes your key, or email hello@duesback.com. Fees for outcomes verified before you stop remain due. We delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or end your access at any time, with notice by email where practical, including if you break these Terms, if a charge fails and is not resolved, or if we shut the service down. If we shut the service down, we will give at least 30 days' notice and will not charge for anything verified after the notice date.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change affects fees or your rights in a material way, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the change. If you do not accept, disconnect before the change takes effect.

Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
